Welcome to the Web home of the Norton Shrike
Designed and built in 1983 in San Diego CA by Dave Norton, the Norton Shrike ran up 78,000 miles powered by a Yamaha 650 Maxim drivetrain. Restored in 2001 in Temecula CA, using a BMW K1200RS, the Shrike is again turning heads, now on the streets of Rogue River, OR. Read more to learn a good deal of useful info on autocycle theory and design, and to find out what makes the Shrike unique among three-wheelers as an inexpensive sports car, a frugal commuter, a safer motorcycle, and a personal poke in the eye to conventional wisdom. With total mileage approaching 140,000 miles, the Shrike is once again showing its age, but is still Dave’s daily driver, rain or shine, and still winning the occasional car/bike show trophy. Are YOU having any fun? I am!
